Make it EASY for Your Visitors to Tweet About You

Make it Easy for Your Visitors to Tweet About You With clicktotweetDo you want to get more buzz about your company on social media? We all do! It’s one of the big challenges that businesses face today.

I want to share a great tool with you that can help. If you’re not using clicktotweet yet, read on to find out how it can make it super easy for your website visitors to spread the word about you on Twitter.

Clicktotweet is a tool that lets you create a prepared tweet, and then include a link to it on your website. When visitors click the link, they are immediately taken to Twitter with your predefined tweet ready for them. All they have to do is click “Tweet” and presto! The word is spread.

All of your visitors are busy people. If you don’t make it easy for them to spread the word, the likelihood of them taking time to compose a tweet about you is small. Clicktotweet lets them tweet with only two clicks of the mouse, and makes it much more likely that they will actually do it.

Here’s what the process looks like.

Step 1: Create Your Tweet

Go to There, you’ll see a simple dialog box where you can compose your tweet. You’ll want to make sure to include a link back to your article. I usually go to first to create a short version of my post URL, which is what I’ve done here. Here’s an example of the tweet I’ve prepared for this post.

Step 2: Get Your Link

Once you’ve composed your tweet, Just click the green “Generate Link” button, and your custom link will be generated below. Copy this so that you can insert it into your page or post. If you want to preview what your visitors will see when they click, then click on the linked version at the bottom.

Step 3: Your Visitor’s Experience

You can customise the text you display for your link to say “Here’s today’s tweetable,” or “Click to tweet about this post,” or you can write out the words that you want them to tweet. It’s up to you!

Here’s what I see when I click on the link I’ve created for this post. I’m taken right to my Twitter account, and the Tweet is ready to go!
